The Durable Slate Company was selected to participate in a multimillion dollar renovation of Wittenberg University’s athletic facilities. The extensive project will include the removal and reinstallation of slate on the historic portion of the Multi Recreation Facility roof. Durable Slate will be collaborating with Danis, a major construction management company with offices throughout the U.S.
Built in 1845, Wittenberg University has a rich history and is often recognized as one of America’s most beautiful college campuses. Based in Springfield, Ohio, the private university serves about 2,000 full-time students.
The scope of the project will include the removal of the existing slate, installing new underlayment and re-installing the existing slate. Because of Durable Slate’s extensive inventory of reclaimed slate and clay tile we will be able to closely match the existing slate as needed at Wittenberg. The renovation project will also include the replacement of all of the slate roof flashings.
Durable began work this week and will continue on the project through early 2018.
