This Akron home was struck by lightning on its drive-way side. Initially, the damage appeared limited to slates and copper flashing nearest the strike point. However, because the opposite chimney was damaged, the lightning likely travelled the full length of the roof requiring that we remove the entire back-half of the roof to address the underlying damage. This comprehensive repair included new copper flashings to both chimneys, the ridge, three vent pipes, and the sides of the dormer. The original Penn Black slates were nearing the end of their life-expectancy and replaced with higher quality, albeit similar looking North Country Black. To complete the look, the slate walls on the rear upper dormer were likewise replaced.
