Built in 1888, the Cedarville Opera House was home to a number of community activities over the years. Sadly in 1956, the opera house closed its doors due to the demand in outdoor entertainment. It wasn’t until the 1980s that there was a revived interest in the opera house. During this time, the historic building was restored, and the Cedarville Opera House had its grand re-opening in 1994.
The Durable Slate Company worked on both the roof and the brick over the course of this project. We replaced many of the damaged Buckingham slates throughout the roof as well as installed new copper valleys. The chimneys were also repointed with historically accurate mortar and were reflashed with hand-soldered copper.
