This house is an original Frank Lloyd Wright design, that he personally oversaw. The original custom made Ludowici clay tile specified by Wright had been torn off and thrown away many decades ago. We located an original piece of tile that was left, forgotten in the attic. We commissioned Ludowici to replicate the exact same tile from the original size and color Wright originally specified. We installed the replicated tile in the same manner as the original using old photos and reviewing the original blueprints. The box gutters were reconstructed and lined with custom fabricated terne coated stainless steel that was hand soldered.
