The Sisters of Mercy is a Catholic religious order founded in Dublin, Ireland in 1827 by Catherine McAuley. The order has a long history of providing education and healthcare services, as well as social justice advocacy and support for the poor and marginalized. The Sisters of Mercy have a strong presence in Cincinnati, Ohio, where they have been serving the community for over 150 years.
In Cincinnati, the Sisters of Mercy have established a number of schools, hospitals, and other institutions to serve the community. These include Mercy Health, a large healthcare system with hospitals, clinics, and other facilities throughout the region; Mercy College, a Catholic liberal arts college; and a number of elementary and secondary schools. The Sisters of Mercy in Cincinnati are also actively involved in social justice work and community service, including efforts to address homelessness, poverty, and other social issues.
The Sisters of Mercy in Cincinnati are part of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, a network of Catholic religious sisters who are committed to the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. The Sisters of Mercy are known for their compassion, care, and dedication to serving others, and they continue to make a positive impact in Cincinnati and around the world.
