St. Joseph's was built in Gretna (the westbank of New Orleans) in 1927. It has a Ludowici clay tile roof that suffered from storm damage after Hurricane Katrina. Most of the roof was intact, but there were swaths of missing tiles throughout the roof's surface.
Understandably, the church didn't want to replace their beautiful roof, but they also didn't want a hodge-podge of tiles that didn't fit or weren't exactly the same red color. We sourced reclaimed Ludowici tiles that matched the exact size, color and profile. Once the repairs were done, seamlessly, it looked original.
