This house was built by Architect Emile Weil for Emmanuel Benjamin in 1900. It was later acquired by J. Edgar Monroe, owner of the famed Rosecliff mansion of Newport, RI - one of the Gilded mansions. This house later became known as the Benjamin-Monroe house.
We removed the shingle roof and restored the roof back to its original grandeur. New Vermont Semi-Weathering Gray Green slate was installed with all new copper box gutters, flashings, and dormers.
