Founded by John Stewart in 1816 and built in 1824, the Wyandot Mission Church is a hidden treasure, tucked away in the middle of Mission Cemetery in Upper Sandusky, OH. The eponymous Wyandot Indians worshiped here until 1843, when the land was deed to the Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church. And while the site remains a national shrine for the Methodist Church, the land and building were returned to the Wyandotte Nation in 2019.

It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.

For this unique and complex project, we removed all existing slate tiles and replaced them with S-1 Grade, unfading black cut-corner slate. On the roof's western face, we replaced the original slate pattern using unfading green and spanish black slate.

We designed the pattern to precisely match the original, vertically and horizontally, tile for tile. We also installed a new copper ridge roll and copper chimney flashing. The original chimney was also rebuilt from the roof line up.
